Hi I decided to start general thread to post various ship designs I'm making. Hopefully I will be able to finish all those WIPs I posted before, they will also be posted here. For starters a cruiser for Poland (another one :D). Supposedly there were some negotiations about ships during a treaty that...

What is the main intended role for this ship? I ask because for me, slow river crafts, just like armoured trains, have very limited combat survivability on modern battlefield. They have some uses still, but in general, they are not worth investment, unless some very specific conditions make alternat...

Was Poland able to finance such project? It is questionable. But maybe? After all, It is not a battleship level of expensive ;) Oh no, it would definitely not able to finance this project. I'm not sure if number of 40mm is not too big for a ship of it's time. But on the other hand, Piorun was desig...

In early 1930s Polish Navy was planning to build a training ship for Naval Academy, but government was not willing to spend money on ships that were not really combat capable. As result, ORP Gryf was designed, officially minelayer/pride of the navy/trainig ship hybrid. It's proposed wartime mission ...

A long time had passed, but finally I'm back! This time with something from deep XIXth century :D First simple recolour of Darth Panda's beautiful Cruizer-class sloop. A nice concept, using a German old hulk with modern (for that time period, that is) British equipment. Problems like converging German metric standards in British imperial measurements seem minute beside the actual refitting and building problems. ...and on to your catapult, as you are using a modi...

You mean PZL-46 was not a hydroplane (as it definitely was a dive bomber)? Yes, but could be turned into one as it was available in 1938 so there was time to do it. No, I mean PZL.46 was not a dive bomber. It was updated version of PZL.43 with some gimmicks like lowered "bathtub". But it was not a ...

15 years of being a hulk, I doubt hull would be in any shape to receive such treatment. True, but any other option would be completely impossible :D In reality indeed, such ship would be far, far, faaaaarrrr beyond Navy budget. Handful of destroyers was pushing it to the limits. But ok, let's stret...

Hi all, I'd like to discuss my idea for a battleship for Poland (in semi-historical setting). I am aware that there was no way to fit a BB in Polish budget in thirties, but let's strech it a bit :D Do you think a such a refit was feasible? What would you change? Background: One of the Mackensen-clas...
