Looking good. Love the top views. Check the turrets though, there are some discrepancies on the top view, with the telescopes on both the primary and secondary turrets being on the wrong side aft, and the outboard telescopes on the secondaries on the side of the bridge having been omitted somehow.

After taking a too long of a time making this, I present to you the S-511-66. One of many ship designs by the USN that has the theoretical 5"/54 guns, it was designed in late 1944 and I've drawn with several inspirations from the USS Flint.



No top view this time and no camouflage, however, sorry about that! And if there's any mistake about the ship, please do tell me, apologies if there's any!

Thanks to Colombamike for all of his help but I've updated the last drawing (S-511-66 5"/54 cruiser scheme). It includes a top view and several improvements such as general deck clutter and just several mistakes fixed.

Oh, that's quite nice. Two things I'd change. First, I'd get rid of the "stepped" barrel effect, which was not at all pronounced on the 5/54 Mk 16.



Second, I think the protective hood should be removed from the torpedo launchers. IIRC, this was fitted to protect crews from blast damage on destroyers that were firing their rear guns forward at high elevation. There is no blast danger in this installation.

I'll also point out that the gun mountings are likely to be the same type as the below image with a shape similar to that of the automatic Mk 42.

I was going to contradict you...but i think you're right
(even if I think that the times between July-November 1944 are very short to design a new weapon-system )

Studies begin in July, and by November the engineers have all the data (size, weight) of the gun, turret & loading system

I finally came around to fix the turrets and make it look like the Mk 41. I made it as is from the blueprints of the ship design and not one to one recreation from the real Mk 41. So it doesn't have the snake eyes thingy. Also fixed the tapering of the gun.
