I'm working on Scharnhorst now.

I like.
In one of the older versions of Breyer's Battleships & Battlecruisers there was a drawing of a conversion of the Scharnhorst class, with all the 5.9" & 4.1" guns removed. They were replaced by 11 twin 12.8cm DP mounts. The space where the single 5.9" mounts were had light Flak guns (probably 2 or 3cm)
It was an awesome concept.

Yes, but this was no 'official' drawing. The first concept saw just an enlenghtening of the bow, changing the main turrets to 15" Bismarck-style and a new mast moved backwards plus new optical directors and radars. Interesting, the design saw only some 2cm added to the whole aa weapons.
I will add a more advanced version with 12,8cm DPs and, of course, a KM'46-style version. Further I will do the version as built and the first refit with new bow and catapult/hanger of 1939.
Be patient, my time is few and the pixels are many...
edit: you will find some reworked details on Gneisenau. The 2cm flak 38 was to simple to me, but I'm still not satisfied. Maybe someone has a better solution. The 10,5cm are reworked, too. They are ok now. The 3,7cm flak was done by Alvama, it's good. The 5,9" were ok. The 11m-boat is completely new. And many, many other details.
In my opinion, it is not ready yet, but I do not want to overload it with details. Any suggestions?

She's beautiful...can't wait to see the other versions and read the back story! Here's hoping at least one has a happy ending as a museum ship!
