very interesting. did you get the calculations to work to get her all working?
my only doubts are the missing black line on the sonar, the TACAN that is not on the highest point, the quite blocky forward structure (not an real flaw, just an off-look) and some doubts if you need the STIR 180 aft.
depending on the beam you might consider an prop guard, and I note the lack of bilge keels?

other then that, she looks good and quite potent.

I did as much as I felt comfortable with doing but from what I can tell there are no obvious signs of "OMGWE'RESINKING" syndrome. Regarding the forward structure. I agree it's not as elegant as I'd have wished but I can't think of any other way to depict it... RE: Bilge keels and prop guard, I knew I'd forgotten something on the colour drawing!

Really awesome as always blackbuck. Just a question, I know I have seen that rear (air search I am guessing) radar before on the Kortenaer class before, is it capable and modern enough to be used with RAM and the very advanced Lynxes you have fitted? I'm sure it is a very capable setup, I just ask because I have not seen such a combination before. Also what year is this ship from? I'm guessing late 80s early 90s?

LW-08 is still in service on quite a few vessels even now. I'd direct you towards the Brandenburg for any reservations about capability gaps etcetera.

As for a time period, mid to late eighties construction with fitting out taking place in the end of that bracket. Obviously the lynxes or other deployed helos at the time of launch wouldn't be full on Super Lynxes though.

I see, thank you for clearing that up for me. I was assuming that with the Lynxes but was not positive thank you

Interesting design (and with a very long bow).
Bit reminds of FFG-7 class (and especially some "personal design" modifications that appeared at various times on this forums).
Btw. is Somwhereistan located near Faroffistan from which my Tartar-armed destroyer comes from, or is it perhaps in a completely different direction? ;) :D

My designs tend to end up that as a feature of late (RE: My Tartar carrier) Aesthetically I think (myself) it looks like a cross between a Perry, a Type 22 and my Tartar carrier of which this was meant to be somewhat of a successor.

It may well possibly be near by :D I had a whole bunch of generic place names in a .txt file somewhere along those likes.

Something I whipped up without much forethought other than the descriptor of "trade protection" so don't mind if there are any glaringly wrong things done with it...

an interesting design. I have a few questions, notes and comments though:
- I am a bit puzzled by the anti-ship missiles. why so many? and why spread over the ship?
- the double bottom seems a bit low
- I would swap the aft 40mm and the torpedo tube. an better field of fire aft and an safer location for the TT
- I have doubts if heuhen's NSSM reloader would be feasible, but especially if it would be worth the weight in this ship. the reloading won't go any quicker, the only benefit is no crew outside.
- those STIR platforms... I see no need for those heighened mounts.
- the LW-08 stabilisation platform is one that is fitted on another type of mast. you might be able to make an much better looking mast by copying another LW-08 mounting (for example the doorman, the indian carrier, etc)
- I would take a look at the foremast again, as the current setup seems less then ideal.
- all radars are now on about the same height. I would try to build it up like this, clearing the systems only just (from bottom to top):
* STIR
* ZW-06
* LW-08
* DA-08

hull shape, waterline & engines is unfinished by you as of now, so I will not comment on that ;)
but, very intersting and I am waiting for more of this ship :P

* I took inspiration from the Lupo (namely the Peruvian ones for the Otomat layout namely because of the lack of a small form factor double or quad launcher for the thing like Harpoon and Exocet have.
* Low as in to great of a gap between the machine deck and the outer hull or low as in not enough room?
* They're 30mm mounts but fair enough will swap them round. One imagines they'd have much more of a range of movement than the older position?
* Fair enough. I may go with a solution like I chose on the ASW frigates I came up with (slightly too late for the competition mind).
* I was of the understanding that a better field of view via height would be preferable but flush to the superstructure would mean less structures topside.
* Will do
* Much to do with the whole throwing together but I agree with it being somewhat less than ideal

Onwards to glory and insufferable pain!
