Can anyone please assist with the ships crest of HMS AUDACITY. 1940-41. I'm not sure if she was around long enough to even have one as she had such a short service life.
I am looking for it to include with my second book in the series on
http://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/British- ... II/p/6818/
which covers battleships and carriers.

My email is [email protected]

regards

Mal Wright.

Sorry Mal, but I'm afraid no such badge exists.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I have now established that there was no crest for this ship. understand from a relative of one of the officers lost on the ship that 'someone' on board had been doing sketches but there was disagreement over just what was a picture representation of the word Audacity. If able to design one it would probably have been sent to the Admiralty for consideration, as their ship crest design people were flat out trying to keep up with all the new ships building and planned.
Its one of those things we shall never know....but it does peak my curiosity as to how to represent that word.
