While nibbling through my backlog of older projects, I decided to revisit what could have been my entry for the Cold War bomber challenge last year that I never got to finish, and redid it from scratch, closest to what I've originally envisioned. Mostly an evaluation design before I try to further flesh out the series. Never really felt confident with how I've shaded and contoured the top view, but yeah.

And when I said it was supposed to be an upscaled aircraft design, guess what was the inspiration?

Very nice work, a sleek looking strike aircraft.

I am getting hints of TSR.2 in this design. ;)

Hi wb!

That's a real beauty, and really well drawn. Rather better than my own entry in the cold war bomber challenge, I have to admit.

Greetings
GD

Looks like a large Hawker P.1129.

I really like this design - it gives me French vibes with the air intake half-cones, but the large, sweeping vertical stabilizer with the (presumably?) ECM antenna feels very distinctively Russian in influence. This design really blends several different influences well to become something that feels unique and not overly derived from one specific real-world aircraft.

As to the shading on the top view - I do see some awkward portions which could be fixed. If the illumination is coming from the top right, as it appears to be, than the shading on the horizontal stabilizers would appear to be reversed. The left (top) stabilizer should be in light, while the right (bottom) stabilizer should be in shadow. If you wanted to go into greater detail, the vertical stabilizer should also cast a shadow along the fuselage towards the aft right side of the aircraft and right horizontal stabilizer.

Even if unrealistic, the drawing is still excellent and the concept interesting - great work!
