The IMAM Ro.63 was an Italian short take-off and landing airplane used for tactical recon and liaison duties during World war 2.

As the Italians had adquired some Fieseler Fi 156 and, as they liked it, they decided to copy it achieving even better performance results than the Fi-156.
However, as Italian engines were lacking, only 6 of them were built and the role intended to be fulfilled by this aircraft was taken by the Fi 156 and the IMAM Ro.37 despite being, this last one, obsolete.

Thanks to Eswube for his help on this one.

Very nice work. Never heard of this one before either, so I've learned something new today too!

The Breda Ba.44 was a biplane airliner produced in Italy during the mid 30s that saw service with Ala Littoria, Regia Aeronautica and Paraguayan Air Force.

As Breda had purchased a manufacturing license to produce the De Havilland DH.89, they made some changes in the design believing that it would improve the final performance and would make the airplane easier to manufacture. The most radical changes were the cockpit and the tail. Although originally it was planed that it would be powered by Italian Colombo S.63 engines, that idea was quickly discarded in favour of the De Havilland Gipsy Six, the same ones that the Dragon Rapide had.

They saw action during the early World War 2 mainly in Albania (where Ala Littoria had been running commercial flights back from the 30s) but also some airplanes served in Libya (i couldn't find any photo or pic of a Ba.44 serving in North Africa though). The first conflict where this airplane took part in was the Chaco war, where they served as ambulance airplanes but also as VIP transport.

Thanks to Eswube for his review on this one.

Nice work, both on the Ro.63 and the Ba.44!
