Second from last for this time period, the Hanriot H.41:

[ img ]

According to https://helaf.wordpress.com/2007/09/, where many profiles of Real Hellenic Aircraft exist, refers to Hanriot HD17, saying "at least 2 units were used from 1923-1930". Other sources (http://lms.aau.ac.id/library/ebook/R_60 ... d_0207.pdf) say that 12 H.41 were delivered to Hellenic Naval Service. The most possible color for the period is metallic grey with the flag in tail, although Helaf Wordpress has a green HD.17 with wheels-like in previous period (1916-1922). Any source is welcomed.

In 1928, six British-made Hawker Horsley aircraft were delivered to the Hellenic Naval Aviation. They could carry the impressive for the time, load of a 975 kg torpedo. They were based at Tatoi, near Athens, from the beginning to the end of their service. In their final years, they were used for training purposes. They did not take part in any operation during World War II.

Operational History

Dec. 1929 - 6 Horsleys are delivered to the Naval Air Force.
21 Jul. 1934 - 3 Horsleys take part in the "Tour of the Balkans", a good-will operation after the signing of the Balkan treaty that involves visiting most of the Balkan capitals, starting from Istanbul. Involved are: Georgios Themelis (mission leader; later Defence Deputy Minister), Pavlos Sachtouris, Georgios Fraggistas, Charalambos Potamianos, Xenophon Varvaressas.

After the forming of Royal Hellenic Air Force, all Horsley were designated "B1" to "B6", one B was simply removed.

Mid War Period (1923-1940)

Part 2 (1931-1940)

In this period the united Air Force orders some aircraft, other were donations etc. Everything will be included in each individual aircraft. Also in this period I will include some aircraft already done from other artists, for completeness and back up history.

Sorry for not posting anything here since March, work load prevented me for continuing, but I managed to find some time.

Starting with a rare type, the Avia BH-33. Information are very little, only that Hellenic Air Force acquired 5 Yugoslav-produced BH-33s, during the 1935 coup, when Hellas was a republic. I doubt if these were use in combat, they probably just filled the numbers.
