Hey, welcome aboard with a great drawing. A few comments though;
Thank you Denodon for your comments.I'm not sure the raked wing tips on the -8 would look as you've drawn them. Images I've seen seem to show it with more dihedral. All your lower deck doors have rain gutters/bumpers for jetways yet the doors over the wings on the main deck should not have them if I remember correctly as no aerobridge will ever dock with them. I'm not sure if the aft door has them or not but I would guess not. Also I would try and define the control surfaces on the outer wings and tail plane more effectively. On the real jumbos you can quite easily see the elevators and outer ailerons from such an angle. Regarding the wing tips, you are correct, as can be seen here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/theboeingc ... 847628719/ I will try to find a good side view in order to draw them as correctly as possible. Regarding the rain gutters: All five doors appearantly do have rain gutters on the 747-8i, See http://paineairport.com/kpae3912.htm for a picture showing the gutters on the door over the wings. Regarding the control surfaces on the outer wings and tail plane: Also for these details I will try to find detailed pictures and more accurate side views. The next version containing the list correction will be posted by me asap in this thread. |

Eswube said (in my introduction topic) :
-I think You could try to work more on the shading in places like leading edges,
Thx Eswube. I totally agree with these comments. Especially your last remark,... I can not understand I completely oversaw this... -it seems that there's no "underwing" shade on the fuselage/wing roots, -I have some doubts about the shape of the engine pylons - inner is weirdly bent "upwards" in the rear part, while the outer looks like the wing profile was completely flat on the bottom side. Anyway, these will also be taken into account for the next version of this drawing. Biggest problem was to find a highly detailed profile drawing of this plane. Maybe because of the fact that this model does not yet exist for a very long time. |

with the ones you find, be careful and check them with good pictures on every single detail. sometimes people just copy the obvious details onto an already existing version of the aircraft. this results in what we here often call bad kitbashes........ and if you use those as reference, yours might have errors bigger then you would think possible (not that it is the case here, I am not that familiar with this aircraft, just an general warning on stuff like this) |
