That's a real shame, no one wants to see a ship scrapped. Hopefully a new ship is on the way.
Knowing how the Norwegian government is, not likely. They only see numbers

They decide not to replace it, since a single ship would be to expensive, they calculated the cost to be around: $2 billion (they are going to get a shocker in the future, when they see a frigate can cost $3-4billion). Instead:
- They are running more crew rotation on the remaining 4 frigates keep
- Skjold class is to be kept in service and getting their MLU (Originally the government wanted to early retire them (probably due to they being a offensive plattform, how ever you look at it))
- NATO have moved more ships up North then before. (I quite often see, British, Dutch, German, etc. frigates. On the coast)

the second reason is that it is close to when the Government and the Navy/military starting to look over the fleet plan and what is needed the next couple of years (they will start with that in 2024-26'ish)
FFI (military research institute) have many project for future Navy project.

some of the hull plate of HNoMS Helge Ingstad will be used as parts of the other 4 frigates.

Just of the printing press. Norwegian Ministry of Defense are suing Navantia for problems with Fridtjof Nansen class frigates. There aren't much detail out yet about what, since it just been announced. But from what I read and understand, they are suing on the premises on how unatural the frigate sunk from it's damages.

The flooding of the ship, didn't act acooridingly to the damage the ship recived. For some people that remember, the frigate main engine room was flooded trough the propeller shaft. totally doom the frigate. The original flooded area of the ship, that would flood normal by the damage, wouldn't have sunk the frigate, they was build to stay aflote with 4 main compartment flooded after all, but with the engine room getting flooded and thus also overpower the capacity of the pumps, the frigate become unstable and eventually sunk. That is an area that are contreversila, due to how many factors that are in play
