With heuhen's permission I fixed his drawing of the Project Utopia megayacht as the original drawing was out of scale and missing several details featured on the concept design. I retained the original window color and placed my username in the credits, however I will change the color of the windows to the standard blue and remove my username from the credits if the admins feel that those changes must be made for the drawing to be acceptable for upload to the Archive.

just a link to the reference.

The idea around it is good, solution on how it should float, move, be stable is also quit good, since they have not broken or great something new, they have just used something that exist on the marked, it's called a floating oil platform, that can move by them self, we have one or to of them here in Norway, and they are mainly used for finding oil. the difference between a oil platform and that concept, is that a oil platform is more top heavy, so often the man in charge of loading equipment on them is an engineer... but that's normal!

I used the PDF of the design from Yacht Island Design's website as a reference.

While I prefer it with the charcoal gray tinted glass, here's the Utopia with Shipbucket standard windows and glass railings.

glass railings can be in a different color, a color we have allowed here on shipbucket before, her is an example:

It looks a lot better with the new railing colors.

I would recommend a few things
- make the railing after the 'dark' glass darker, as right now the part behind the glass railings looks to be floating in the sky a bit
- add some kind of bars in the glass panels. as it is now, this structure would not be allowed to be build (and glass panels this size cannot be constructed anyways) and it would help a lot 'rounding' the shape and adding some realism.
- go for a light direction, right now the light is not from the left and not from the right, so make a light shaded side and an dark shaded side
- maybe add some shading to show light from the top.
- I think you are missing some overhang shadings.

I see what you mean and will definitely consider your suggestions. I can't make out the glass panel lines on the 3D renders of it, which is why I haven't added them.

glass panel lines are never on 3D renders ;) example:

http://www.liveyachting.com/wp-content/ ... y-2009.jpg

(btw, I heard the designer wanted to kill the engineer who put those glass panel lines in there, they break completely with the style of the yacht...... but hey, then he should have drawn them in in the first place :P)
