I guess I'll start off. Over here at obscure paint schemes central, I've made a very obscure paint scheme: The Novorossiyan Su-25
[ img ]
This Su-25 came into the hands of Separatists in South East Ukriane/the Lugansk Peoples' Republic. The little information available suggests the aircraft was either a Ukrainian Su-25 that was forced down and repaired to working condition with museum examples. It is one of two aircraft in the Novorossiyan Air Force, the other being an L-29, which was a museum piece restored to working condition, and on it's last sighting was still wearing full Soviet markings. The Pilot of the aircraft was a Georgian volunteer. The aircraft apparently performed a bombing run on a Ukrainian military convoy at the battle of Delbatseve in February of this year, claiming 4 Armoured Vehicles, and 2 Kamaz trucks carrying infantry.

Today i bring the first (and probably, most forgotten) American giant.

With Eswube's help i could draw this airplane which is rather... scarce in sources.

The Witteman-Lewis XNBL-1 'Barling Bomber' was an experimental long-ranged heavy bomber intended to be built for the USAAS in the 20s. Despite being a failure, it was the first attempt at creating a true strategic bomber.

The USAAS general William Mitchell, asked the designer of this airplane, Walter Barling, to design an airplane capable of carrying enough bombload to sink a battleship. To fully understand the magnitude of this statement, think that through modern history the usage of only two kind of weapons have been regulated using international treaties, the atomic weapons and the battleships.

PS: This airplane was that tall, that i have to made a custom template just for it!

Nice additions of Galebs and Jastrebs and the Barling Bomber just tops everything off nicely.
I knew it was big, but you can see just what a monster this thing was in those days.
