Here is a hypothetical "upgrade" to the Burak (Aviso A69) class corvettes with parts from other ships, such as Phalanx and Compatto guns, fire control radars, as well as some new weapon systems such as Aselsan's 2 x 6 antisubmarine rocket launchers and Roketsan's 2 x 4 Atmaca (Hawk) antiship missiles. The purpose is to reduce the burden of logistics and maintenance while adding more punch to the platform, and extending the life of the vessels at a low cost.

Great to see You back. I was getting worried that You could be having problems with, ekhem... politics. ;)

Nice work. I'm not sure if it would be cost-effective at all, though.

Thanks! :) Less to do with politics but more with my own affairs...

When it comes to efficiency, as long as structural and mechanical capabilities of the vessel can support its mission, why not?

All additions but the 76-mm gun and fire controls--and maybe a more modern sonar--will be plug-n-play. The vessel will carry more and longer-range SSMs, and possibly more modern torpedoes, as well as having better self-defense capability.

In contrast to designing and constructing a totally new platform, it will take months, not years to upgrade. After the first example, learning-curve effect will come into play: upgrades will be shorter and cheaper.

Anyways, I think we both don't have the numbers! So the argument may still go on and on... ;)

Hi, Hudo! Welcome back to the Bucket! May I ask you if you are planing a drawing with the bottom of the vessel?

Thanks! Something like this:

It is the vessel's original bottom.
