Oh man! I'm just in love with this drawing, great work! The 990 is just my favorite jet airliner.

I was surprised TWA schemes haven't been done (or at least uploaded here), so I've started doing them myself and what better place to start than with one of my favorite aircraft: the Convair 880
[ img ]
Some Background:
TWA was one of the major operators of the 880, having had 27 in their possession between 1960 to 1975 when they were retired. Like all first generation jets, they guzzled fuel, but even more so compared to the 707 which formed the bulwark of TWA's mainline fleet in the 1960s and 70s. With the oil crises hitting airlines hard in the early 1970s, TWA retired the 880 in 1975, transferring them to their Kansas City Overhaul Base and then to the Mojave, were many sat in the desert before being scrapped en masse around 2002.
