I'm no expert for the A-6, but I always thought the EA-6 had a slightly longer nose than the standard A-6. At least that's how it looked like on some pictures in the web.

Dornier Do 23

After reworking the poor Dornier Do F/Do 11 into the even worse Do 13, Dornier finally got it right with the Do 23.

[ img ]

With Dornier still working out their standardised rules for model naming, the prototypes of the Do 23 were each given an individual letter name, rather than the V1, etc later used. The Dornier Do 23E and Do 23F prototypes were selected for mass production, and so production aircraft followed their naming. Initial production was the Do 23E model, soon changing to the almost identical Do 23F model.
Although the problems of the earlier models had been corrected, the design was now outdated and the Do 23 had only a limited time in service before being replaced by the Ju 86 and Do 17.
The Do 23's were briefly relegated to training duties, before some fund their way to civil and testing duties, while some served as trials aircraft for magnetic minesweeping. The most interesting use was for forestry protection and forest bug spraying duties.

Dornier Do 23 in Hungarian service

Hungary was the only foreign user of the Dornier Do 23.

With the aircraft retired from German service, some aircraft were supplied to Hungary, where they remained in service until 1941.
