Richmond Class Mine Countermeasure Vessels

The Richmond Class Mine Countermeasure Ships are to be built in France by Kership Lorient at Lanester. They are based on the City Class Mine Countermeasures Ships of the Royal Netherlands Navy and the Belgian Navy. These vessels will be fitted with a range of unmanned systems including unmanned surface, aerial and underwater vehicles alongside towed sonars and mine identification and neutralization ROVs.

All vessels in the class will be based at HMAS Waterhen, New South Wales and will form the 16th Mine Countermeasure Squadron.

Yarra Class Minehunters

The Yarra Class Minehunters are used to find, classify and destroy moored and bottom mines from vital Australian waterways. The class was wholly designed and built by Thales Australia at Carrington (Newcastle), New South Wales. Out of the 5 vessels built, 2 have been placed in reserve pending disposal and the remaining 3 are currently in active service. They are due to be replaced by the Richmond Class MCMs by 2028.

Speed/Range: 14 knots (1,600nm @ 10 knots)

Manning Class Combat Diving Team Launch

The Manning Class Combat Diving Team Launches are designed to operate as specialist vessels, they each carry equipment such as a mini recompression chamber, RHIB, dive platform and hauling winch. They are primarily used by the Australian Combat Diver Teams (AUSCDT) for mine clearance, demolitions, neutralising explosives, search/salvage operations and ships underwater maintenance. Although they are not commissioned vessels, they do fly the Australian White Ensign (AWE) and use the prefix ADV (Australian Defence Vessel) instead of HMAS (His Majesties Australian Ship).

They are also deployable in overseas theatres when embarked on HMAS Gallipoli.

Draught: 2.6 metres
Speed/Range: 35 knots (300nm)
Compliment: 21

Nice drawing! Very detailed for a boat of that size. Well done (I think that in your case is Bravo Zulu )! And is amazing for the size of the real boat a descompression chamber! May I ask why the pair of boats (which seems very capable, at least to me) are not comissioned in the Australian Navy? Thanks in advance for your answer and cheers.
