This comment is aimed at no particular person, and simutaneously to all the folks who draw these merchant ships.

This thread never ceases to put a smile on my face. One of my favorites on the board.

Novice: very nice work on the MOLEDET! to my eyes, she always had a slightly odd profile, as the funnel is situated off-centre, but not quite aft either. Would you consider drawing her as Epirotiki Lines' unfortunate JUPITER as well? On second thought, go for ZIM's masterpiece, the SHALOM, first. Yay! :)

Not many good pics around of the SHALOM. Let me keep searching. In the meantime, here is some stuff for the MOLEDET/JUPITER:

THX rd77. I got a section drawing of the Shalom from WhyMe, but as you said good pictures of that ship are hard to come by. Am looking into some other avenues as regards source material, but any thing will be welcome. As for Jupiter, ex-Moledet I hadn't considered it but it might be agood idea. It will be much easier and quicker than doing the Shalom :)

After some help from WhyMe and Radome (as well as my own sources) I've finally completed the SS Shalom Zim Lines' flagship and epitome of the Israeli passenger fleet. Built in France the ship served for only three years before being sold to Germany as Hanseatic, and later being renamed Doric, Royal Odyssey, Regent Sun and finally Sun. Under that name she was towed for scrap in 2001, but sunk near the Cape of Good Hope on 25 July 2001.

Edit: made some changes to the funnel as was suggested by Mosquito

Very nice to see those liners

just a suggestion/question:
should not the stack be more "straight" - i mean : without this "blump" at 3/4 of the height of the funnel?

Edit: seems better now ; nice work
