I am quite fond of the Matilda and I used it as inspiration for the Paladin, and this is basically an evolved version of that tank (except I used side skirts for this design).
I've enlarged the turret of the Mk.4 version now, hopefully it is more reasonable

Lovely design, Rowdy. Out of interest, why are the side skirts dropped after the Mk.2? You seem to be really good at drawing aircraft and vehicles that would fit perfectly into history, especially following the development of the designs, well done mate.

Thanks! The side skirts have been removed to prevent mud and vegetation build-up around the tracks while in the Pacific theatre (Australia had similar problems in Vietnam with the Centurions, so the skirts were removed fairly quickly), and I just left them off the Mk.4 as I figured the skirt design was showing its age. I like trying to get them as realistic looking as possible because I find it makes it more interesting that way

The Monsoon is brilliant Rowdy: just the ticket for the pacific war, comparable to the Lightning.

Wonderful work Rowdy. A very nice design reminiscent of the De Havilland Hornet.

A small point of order - the standard for Commonwealth air forces in WW2 appears to place the squadron letter codes in front of the roundel. Without looking back through the thread it appears Recherche is a British Commonwealth country.

E.g. the starboard side of the aircraft would read A@BC and the port side would read BC@A

I guess there were variations to the rule but it seems to be the rule.

Great aircraft Rowdy, look forward to seeing the Mk.2. Do you mind if I use it in my AU? You seem to have a real talent for drawing some good looking aircraft.
Are you still working on the Thunderstroke too?
