Today, i bring you an airplane that actually never flew.

The Adamoli-Cattani was the prototype of the intended to be the smallest fighter in the world, powered by maybe the most powerful engine available in those years. a 149 kW (200 hp) le Rhône 9M . Designed in 1917 by the Signori Adamoli & Cattani, it was a very reasonable design that also featured some advanced features (for the era) in aerodynamics like hinged leading edges in the wings in place of conventional ailerons.

It was started to be build at the Farina Coach Factory in Turin and it was completed in another factory close to Turin.

Once completed they realized that under that design, the engine could only deliver a 80% of its total power leaving, therefore, the aircraft underpowered. The trials continued until the end of World War I when further development prooved to be pointless.

Thanks to eswube for his review on this one.

Italy, Adamoli-Cattani:

I always attempted to start this beautiful plane but I never did - for you this means that you're my hero now - Thanks!
Are you going for the airliner too?

I fancied some Soviet Aircraft. And as i didn't want to start another drawing, i decided to repaint a Darth Panda's one.

USSR, China (People's Republic of), Mikoya-Gurevich MiG-9

Note: As much as i would've liked it, there are no captions regarding units years or locations simply because i couldn't find any.
