Haruna-class cruisers are the latest class of guided missile cruisers and the first of the kind to equip AN/SPY-8 6-Dimensional Super Active Electronically Scanned Array Radar overseas and license-built Type O5B (based on M51 Submarine-Launch Ballistic Missile) on surface vessels. Its primary role is to be deterrence against any hostile countries who want to invade any Japanese territory as they ratified and amended Article 9 of their constitution to replace the country from a pacifist stance to defensive deterrence and armed neutrality.
How did it get by the Vestrician and Japanese governments is that there is another dimension rift war between real-world against some country in another dimension as same as Vestrician origin. IJN Haruna in another dimension(in a world like Arpeggio of Blue Steel but ordinary ones) was consecutively converted into JDS Haruna (helicopter destroyer) and later JS Haruna(SPY-8 Ballistic missile destroyer because Article 9 had amended in order to possess offensive weapons needed for defensive deterrence and armed neutrality stance of Japan during and after the Third World War possibly in another timeline). It brings to Earth to disarm the nuclear missile installed on the vessel. However, the United Nations and Russia (China didn't argue since they are defeated during the Sino-Vestrician Naval War) were alarmed by the suspicion of using this ship as propaganda to rearm Japan.
This class has three ships namely DDGN-141 Haruna (lead ship), DDGN-142 Hiei, and DDGN-143 Oonami (twin sister of Haruna). Haruna and Hiei still inherited the same pennant numbers from the previous ones. However, Oonami inherited the Kirishima namesake since in the timeline I made for this development, there are major events that happened in the Oonaminoike in Mt. Kirishima that decide to name it. Haruna and Oonami are twin sisters because it was laid up and launched in the same place at the same time. On the other hand, Hiei suffers from cancellation, returning, and delays because of the bankruptcy of the shipyard where it is built. It takes time for the government to find another firm to allow it to build it.

Events:
• On March 26(in Earth Standard time), IJN Haruna was converted to JDS Haruna and JS Haruna, respectively, during its repair at Kure Naval Arsenal in another dimension. In fear of making it a huge issue and scandal among the Ministry faction and to protect the reputation of the Anti-War faction(which she belong), she make a deal to Akashi to hide it in an area where anyone doesn't know of in exchange of researching her ship herself , especially the weapon and system for a possible replication.
• About a week later, it was discovered by Luna Kagurazaka (Vestrician IJN/HVMS Ashigara) and Alexandra Roosevelt (Vestrician USS/HVMS Lexington) and used as a ticket to enter the Kure and talk to the Kongou sisters. They inspect the ship and discovered that it has an unidentified ICBM or Nuclear Missile onboard. IJN Kongou decided, with hesitation and fear, to send her in exile to the Holy French Republic(which at that time was ruled by 2nd Force de Raid Squadron leader Jeanne de Richelieu (Jean Bart)) to disarm the ship. They set sail with IJN Akashi and Nosaki that same night.
• Without any means of equipment to disarm the missile, Jeanne decided to transfer the ship to the Earth, mainly to West Yokosuka with the permission of the government. However, during the call between the Vestrician and Japanese governments, it was intercepted and intervened by calls from the United Nations Security Council and the US President, threatening them that if that ship landed on any ports in Japan and Vestricia, they will retaliate. Both governments compromised to settle this by giving them an opportunity to inspect the ship with representatives from both parties.
• After the nuclear missile disarmament, she was transferred to JMSDF and assigned to new escort flotilla led by her long lost sister Kirishima Kanna (a person with a mysterious background that was a reason for having both the Sino-Vestrician War and Inter-Dimensional War/Imperial Palace Guard Heroine Princess, Emperor's legal advisor, Officially but not well-known Deputy Prime Minister of Japan at the age of 17). Along with the rest of the flotilla, she engaged in different maritime and international exercises.
